Tova Katz

Tova Katz is a writer, composer, musician, and performer newly based in LA after 7 gritty & glorious years in NYC. She obtained her BA in Art & Power: Art and Social Change, with a Minor in Theater, Dance, & Performance Studies at UC Berkeley. Since premiering at La Mama in 2016, her original dark solo musical comedy See You at the Funeral! - directed by the incomparable Tricia Brouk - has been an Official Selection of NYC's The ONE Theatre Festival and Fresh Fruit Festival in 2017. Tova is thrilled for the opportunity to bring this play to the stages of Los Angeles. She is a founding member of the independent international queer performance collective A Beautiful Desperation, and has been creating work with ABD since 2014. Tova has composed, choreographed, co-directed, and performed tap dances as percussion to live music, been featured as a dancing zombie Off Broadway, appeared in a couple TV series, enjoyed performing as lyricist, composer, pianist, guitarist, lead vocalist of her band Glittered & Mauled across NYC from 2011-2016, and in May 2017 released her first solo single Not That Much.
